The Center Place is now able to rent out space in its renovated meeting facility - The Little Red Barn - to area residents. Check out the calendar on the events page to see what events are happening in The Little Red Barn.

(under the auspices of The Center Place – formerly known as the Oskaloosa Community Center)
The properties of The Center Place, Inc. and
The Little Red Barn are Smoke Free.
Fees
Fees listed below are for a 3-hour time period, which includes set-up and clean-up time. The rates listed will be charged for each 3 hour increment.
- Commercial entities: $35
( businesses or profit-making activities, including any event for which admission is charged from any of the categories listed below)
- Not-for Profit Corporations: $30
(Not-for-profit business)
- Individuals hosting events: $25
This category is for parties, reunions, receptions, etc.
- Community Groups with dues: $20
(Clubs)
- Community Groups with no source of income: $1.00 per person
(bridge club, community meeting, etc.) w/ minimum of $10
NOTE: There is an additional rental fee of $50 for any of the above groups
serving alcohol at their event.
Additional Deposits
All groups using the barn are responsible for cleaning according to the guidelines posted. The amount of the deposit refunded will be determined based on compliance with the clean-up guidelines and/or any facility damage. The renter will also be responsible for any damage to the facility that exceeds the initial deposit. A one-time deposit can be held for groups using the facility on a regularly scheduled basis; however, an inspection will be made after each individual event to determine compliance.
• Refundable cleaning/damage deposit for all groups when no alcohol is served: $50
• Refundable cleaning/damage deposit for all groups when alcohol is served: $100
Groups serving alcohol must comply with the following Alcohol Policies:
• Renters who provide alcohol must provide it without fee to their guests. No cash bars are allowed. “Bring Your Own Bottle, (BYOB)” is not allowed.
• Failure to indicate that alcohol is being or was served at an event shall be grounds for immediate termination of the event, and/or no refund of fees or deposits. The Community Center assumes no liability when a renter is serving alcohol.
Cancellation Policy
In the event of the cancellation of an event, the following fees/refunds apply:
40 business days prior - All fees and deposits will be refunded.
30 -39 business days prior - Fees minus 25% will be refunded.
20 - 29 business days prior - Fees minus 30% will be refunded
10 -19 business days prior - Fees minus 40% will be refunded.
5 - 9 business days prior - Fees minus 50% will be refunded.
Less than 5 days prior - There will be no refund.
Because we anticipate heavy use during holiday periods, there will be NO REFUND in the event of cancellation, unless the center is subsequently rented for the same time period as the cancelled event.
Holidays are defined as:
Memorial Day (Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon)
4th of July (July 3, 4 and 5)
Labor Day (Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon)
Winter Holiday Season, (Nov 10 - Jan 5)
If last minute cancellations must occur due to weather related safety concerns, rescheduling or refunds will be allowed as determined by the Board of Directors.
